Established in 1929, the Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League is Connecticut’s premier wood bat, amateur baseball league for adults. Over 300 Hartford Twilight players have advanced to professional baseball since the league’s founding. Former Major League players from the GHTBL include Pete Naktenis, Bob Repass, Moe Drabowsky, Monk Dubiel, Joey Jay and many more. Jeff Bagwell, Bernie Williams, Rob Dibble and Ricky Bottalico played in the GHTBL before becoming MLB All-Stars. Hartford Twilight alumni currently employed by Major League Baseball are St. Louis Cardinals Director of Player Development, Gary LaRocque and Toronto Blue Jays Pitching Coach, Pete Walker. GHTBL alumni now playing professional baseball include A.J. Pollock of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Scott Oberg of the Colorado Rockies. As a non-profit organization, the GHTBL aims to preserve and promote amateur baseball in the Greater Hartford area while supporting the community through charitable giving.
